Q:
Most literature indicates that type II diabetes is associated with obesity or other weight-related issues. Is it possible to be thin and still have type II diabetes?

A:
Yes, you can be thin and have Type 2 diabetes. If your pancreas continues to produce insulin, you may very well be able to control with lifestyle. If a "normal weight" person has symptoms of frequent urination, thirst and rapid weight loss when diagnosed, he/she may be on the road to becoming a Type 1. This is not a given.
