Q:
I have been feeling tired lately after lunch. I feel really really sleepy. I want to put my head down and go to sleep. I have to force myself to keep my eyes open at work during the day, and when I get home around 6 to 7pm I'm really exhausted, but I don't do any hard labor. WHY is that???

A:
Many challenges face us environmentally to lend to tiredness. If your blood sugars are too high or too low, you are most likely to feel fatigued. Refined carbohydrates can release "drowsy" neurotransmitters to the brain. Malabsorption and maldigestion may happen when we are out of balance. Thyroid underproduction may also be developing. MANY THINGS COULD BE CAUSAL. Check in with yourself on your lifestyle, and begin doing what you need to make adjustments. Perhaps it's time for a thorough physical. Just know that most chronic conditions can be controlled good management, the earlier the better.
