Q:
Why do I have to watch what I eat even though I am on insulin?

A:
We cannot perfectly mimic the workings of the human body, which in a "normal" situation is continuously capable of releasing appropriate amounts of insulin around the clock. This is something we cannot perfectly replicate in injectable or inhaleable forms of insulin. As with all of our lifestyles, whether on medications or not, it is necessary to be aware of what you eat and to be very active.
