Q:
I have recently been diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes and have found these questions and answers very helpful. My question is how do I convert how blood sugar is measured in the United states to what my meter says here in Canada? My results are generally 8 or 9 each morning with my before meal results a 6 or 7. Is there a way to convert the numbers mentioned on this website to the results I receive so I know what they mean when reading answers?

A:

Here are some conversions for you, showing numbers in what would be considered a good overall control range for the day. What you will see is that every increase of 10 mg/dl=.56 increase of mM. This should help you make those metric conversions.

  • 70=3.8
  • 100=5.5
  • 120=6.6
  • 150=8.3
