Q:
I am 50 and just diagonsed with Type II diabetes. What is the normal blood sugar level before meals and after meals?

A:
"Normal" fasting blood sugars range from 70-110 by some standards. A good target is to aim to be under 100, preferably between 80-90. A blood sugar range of 110-120 one to two hours post-meal is preferable, with a ceiling of 140 at the highest end.
