Q:
I have been diagnosed with hypoglycemia for some time, but recently I am seeing that after eating, my BS readings are going way up towards 200 (194, 198...). Within 2-4 hours the levels come back down to normal, and I still do not have high BS numbers (fasting) in the morning. Is this anything to be concerned about?

A:
Hypoglycemia often becomes diabetes if not well-managed. In your case, you're exhibiting what could be considered a shift. Have you received help with your meal planning? This is the obvious first place to start. If you have been a bit lax on total lifestyle habits, now is the time to make some changes. If you haven't had a thorough checkup in a while, that would be a good idea also.
