Q:
Is one sugar substitute better than others for diabetics?

A:
There are many sweeteners on the market. I would recommend a plant-based sweetener such as stevia, where no side effects have been shown, and is suitable for cooking. Popular sweetener like Aspartame have been ruled "safe" by the FDA, but some controversy does remain. Some symptoms and allergic reactions have been reported. Saccharin, acesulfame K and sucralose, are some of the other more popular substitutes.

The best advice is MODERATION with any artificial sweetener.
