Dear Family and Friends,
This October I will be running in the Marine Corps Marathon. I have also taken on the added challenge of raising money for vital diabetes research. Please support me in my efforts to run 26.2 miles for a cause that means so much to me.
The Marathon pales in comparison to the daily demands that Diabetes places on my daughter Jenna. It is not just the physical and health demands that most people know about. It is how it impacts her at school both in learning and socially.
Both high and low blood sugar impact learining, and then there is all the hardware for monitoring, and the insulin to keep her levels safe.
I marvel at how she balances it all, and keeps plugging away. I want to help be part of the cure by championing for her and all the other young people who had no say in becoming a Type 1 diabetic.
Please join me in being part of the cure. Donate for each mile I run, each step I take, each breath I make!
A few facts:
Diabetes is one of the most common and serious chronic diseases in the United States. The incidence of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes is rapidly increasing. 24 million Americans have diabetes, and 1 million more are diagnosed every year. This includes 15,000 children who are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes each year.
You can help!
All of the funds raised by the Diabetes Action Team will support research to prevent, treat, and cure diabetes. Every dollar counts so please donate what you can. Together, we can make a difference.
BE PART OF THE CURE!
