Fundraising Honor Roll
Dear Family and Friends,
This October I will be running in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon. I have also taken on the added challenge of raising money for vital diabetes research. Please support me in my efforts to run 26.2 miles for a cause that means so much to me.
Diabetes is one of the most common and serious chronic diseases in the United States. The incidence of both type 1 and type 2 diabetes is rapidly increasing. 26 million Americans have diabetes, and 1 million more are diagnosed every year. This includes 15,000 children who are diagnosed with type 1 diabetes each year.
Raising money for Diabetes Action is not just about running for a cause, but rather, it is about running for something personal to me. For me, this is about my step-dad, who currently lives with diabetes. Also, it is about the many other great people I have come to meet in my life, who live with this same disease, as well. The number of people with diabetes today is staggering, and, I am certain that each and every one of you knows, or has meet someone who suffers from this disease. So, please, help me raise money to fund research that will help us fight diabetes, and bring about a better quality of life to my step-dad, and the millions of others afflicted with this disease. Helping me raise this money, will not just allow me to run the Chicago Marathon, but more importantly, it will allow me to run wearing the Diabetes Action t-shirt with pride, because, for me, this will not just be a race to complete 26.2 miles, but it will also be a race to fight diabetes. Running the 26.2 miles in the Chicago Marathon pales in comparison to what those suffering from diabetes go through, day in and day out. So, I run this on behalf of all those who fight this disease every day, and with every mile completed it will be symbolic of millions that could potentially be saved with your contributions. There is nothing I want more than to see a cure for this awful disease, not just in my lifetime, but in my step-dads lifetime, and the lifetime of the millions of others that suffer today.
You can help!
All of the money I raise for the Diabetes Action Research and Education Foundation will fund research to prevent, treat, and cure diabetes. Every dollar counts so please donate what you can. Together, we can make a difference.
Thanks so much for your support and encouragement!
